#day9 – Gold finches #2

Yay I could finish it today. It was quite difficult to make a layout of these 3 finches over branches. Initially while sketching I could not figure out how to arrange them on a branch. I still feel like it would have been better in arrangement but there is always a next time/ attempt.

I adore these bright little finches, they used to visit my patio when I was in Minneapolis four years ago. I don’t see any finches in Colorado though. I love listening to their chirping.

What’s your favorite bird?

#day8 Gold finches #1

I started with these finches today. It took a while to arrange them on branches. Those  were 3 separate reference pictures from photos for artists group on Facebook.
I am using arches paper and mission gold colors.
I do have a time lapse video will share it soon on Instagram.

By the today I’d Draw A Bird Da, so this can be my this month’s entry for DABD!

#day6 – Hummingbird and flowers #4

Finally it’s done! It took a while to get it done.
I have used arches 140 lb cold press 100% cotton paper, Mijello mission gold colors and my all time favorite raphael and silver brushes for this painting.

I am still editing/working on my next skillshare class, it allows me very less time for painting birds. Well and another thing I forgot to share is that I am also doing 30 days challenge for paper 53. It’s an iPad app where you have to create daily illustration as per the prompt. I haven’t shared those illustrations on social media yet but I am planning to make a post or two.

oh! have I mentioned that this year I have started keeping daily planner. I will write a post about it soon.

Hope you liked this painting. Thank you for visiting.

#day3 – Hummingbird and flowers #1

Started with this hummingbird painting. Today I could finish pencil drawing ✍️ followed by background and stared with fuchsia flower painting.

I am using arches paper for this painting as I have decided to work into multiple layers, so though this paper will definitely serve the purpose. Using Mijello mission gold colors. Please see attached work in progress pictures for reference.

Thank you.

Happy new year 🎊

Wish you a happy new year 🎊

As I mentioned in my earlier posts here is my first painting of 2020! I will be practicing more bird this year. I have used white nights colors and 140 cold press watercolor paper for this painting.

Thank you for stopping by!

#WorldWatercolorMonth Cardinal Day-1

I had participated in #worldwatercolormonth in 2016 then last year I did  💯 days challenge and this year again I decided to participate in #worldwatercolormonth for all 31 days challenge.

It’s a really great initiative by my artist friend Charlie to make awareness about art education, it’s simply 31 Watercolors is 31 Days! You can create magic with this fantastic medium – watercolor.

This time I have decided a bird theme. Those who are following me since while they know that I am more into birds and flowers. It will not be a random bird but just to make it more interesting, I decided to pain rainbow 🌈 colors birds.

The main objective behind this challenge is to develop a particular style of painting, you can see my earlier paintings on Instagram or on my blog itself, I enjoy painting in loose watercolor style. I hope to achieve my goal at the end of the challenge.

I know it’s going to be exciting, it’s always fun painting with other artists community and getting inspired from each other’s work.

Come join us along this challenge.
